Up for sale is a quite rare variation of German WWI Ersatz bayonets.
These are often called Ersock bayonets because during their production were used the blades from obsolete socket bayonets.
This model is made using Model 1853 British bayonet blade and is classified by carter as EB69.
This particular bayonet is an Afghanistan war bringback, many Ersock bayonets ended in Afghanistan where these were sold by Turkey after WWI.
Originally used on Mauser 98 Gewehr in afghanistan the bayonet was used on British No1MKIII SMLE rifle.
In any case, it is a very rare and interesting bayonet that has made quite a trip during it's history.
Condition is good, there is no damage but the paint loss.
The bayonet will be a welcome addition to any advanced bayonet collection.
