As a result it was rejected and model 6x5 was adopted, that is a hybrid version of 6x4 and this model. It was tested in Afghanistan
at about 1986-1987 period.
Look at the several photos in the description that clearly show this model of the bayonet. One made in period of 1986-1988 and
the other in 1987 in Jalalabad.
Most of the pictures show Spetsnaz GRU soldiers. I know that many pieces of ordinary Soviet equipment is often
described as Spetsnaz, but in this case it is true and GRU indeed received a lot of cool stuff for trials before it was or was not
adopted in the army.
Condition is good taking in to the account that these bayonets were heavy tested. It is used but not abused.
Let me know if you want more photos or information.
This bayonet will be a gem of any Kalashnikov associated collection.
